Klosters, Switzerland
Okay, the fact Prince Charles comes here every winter with his
family is the only reason I'm writing about Klosters. It's a
half dozen miles down the mountain from the better known ski
resort of Davos. Actually, Kloster is an upscale, compact little
community. Not much as far as commercial
activity but there's a village
feel to the place. Yep, it's big with the English and even boasts
a nine-hole golf course.
Is this place
hopping or is it dead in the summer?
Nice mix
of locals and visitors.
Is there a lake and/or golf course in town?
There's a lake at the edge of town and a golf course
on a plateau above Klosters.
Arriving by
car the only option?
The train
stops here on the way up to Davos.
Does the place
feel claustrophobic?
It could.
Lots of choices
for acccomodations (hotels/ chalets) and do I have recommendations?
At least
seven **** star hotels.
Could I spend
a whole summer here or would I get bored?
No, 10
days would be the limit. |
