Nendaz, Switzerland

With construction cranes seemingly everywhere, Nendaz is in the midst of a chalet building boom. Nothing fancy about this ski resort. This photo of Nendaz on the left was taken from Veysonnaz, a nearby ski resort. Seemingly dozens of two-room cabins line an area near town. It looks to an affordable place where people can rent or own their chalet. Only saw one hotel in town so, chalets rentals are big business. Must be a favorite place for the Dutch to visit in the summer as loads of vehicles bearing plates from the Netherlands were seen. No upscale stores in the downtown area and cycling seems pretty limited but, one can take the ski lift up and hike back.

Is this place hopping or is it dead in the summer?
Not many tourists here but it's hopping with locals and chalet owners.

Is there a lake and/or golf course in town?
No.

Arriving by car the only option?
Bus service from the valley floor.

Does the place feel claustrophobic?
No.

Lots of choices for acccomodations (hotels/ chalets) and do I have recommendations?
Chalet rentals are the way to go here.

Could I spend a whole summer here or would I get bored?
A week would be the max.
