Chamonix, France (1924)
St. Moritz, Switzerland (1928 & 1948)
Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany (1936)
Oslo, Norway (1952)----population of 550,000, it's the capital and biggest city in Norway.
Innsbruck, Austria (1964 & 1976)
Calgary, Canada (1988)----No cozy ski town but full-on major city (population 988,000).
Lillehammer, Norway (1994)----Very disappointed. Place closes down in summer.
Salt Lake City, Utah (2002)-----On the "cool" scale of 1-10 it rates a 3.
Torino/Turin, Italy (2006)----It's big (population 908,000) but has lots of history. Gets the two thumbs-up.
